Artist’s Statement

I like to have a connection with the images I place on the paper.  I grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, a town surrounded by mountains and vast expanses of wilderness.  Part of me has always tried to navigate the city and the country.  The prints allow me to celebrate nature, even when I am surrounded by an urban setting.

I investigate the openness of nature and the peaceful serenity that it provides.  I incorporate florals grown in my garden. I play with bright colors and proportions and give importance to everyday objects.  In this way, I rebel and pay my respects to Postmodern art.
